The Research Programme
The Technological Development Deartment is responsible for technological development and improvement of the tokamak and related systems (specialized power supplies, vacuum and cryogenic systems, control and data acquisition system, auxiliary heating systems, etc.). Currently, the primary focus of the group is the design and construction of the COMPASS-U tokamak. The numerical simulations using Finite Element Methods (FEM) are broadly used within the group in the scope of the COMPASS-U development.
