Dr. Tomáš Chráska became the new director of IPP on 1 February, 2025. After ten years and two successful terms of office of Professor Radomír Pánek, he succeeded him as the director of the Institute.
In previous years he served as the head of the
Materials Engineering Department and later as the head of the
Plasma
Chemistry and Materials Division. During the term of the director Pánek, as one of his
deputies, he devoted himself to dealing with a number of administrative, technical and operational
matters. He is also a member of the Economic Council of the CAS and the Academic Assembly.
The appointment to the position of the director of the Institute took place on Tuesday 21
January, 2025 at the seat of the Academy of Sciences of the CAS, where he took over the appointment
decree from the hands of the vice-president of the CAS, Ilona Müllerová. The appointment was also
attended by the president of the CAS prof. Eva Zažímalová and prof. Radomír Pánek.
