Institute of Plasma Physics of the CAS (IPP) proposed the internationally recognized scientist, successful manager and university pedagogue prof. RNDr. Radomír Pánek, Ph.D., for the President of the Czech Academy of Sciences for the period 2025–2029.
Radomír Pánek has served for 10 years as the director of IPP, which has undergone significant development during his tenure, and he also has intemational experience in the management of European research institutions.He is the chair or member of a number of scientific councils and panels of foreign and Czech institutions and serves on several expert committees of the European Commission. He lectures at the Charles University and CTU in Prague and is the author or co-author of more than 160 impacted publications. As a natural leader and experienced manager with the ability to work collaboratively in a team, he is able to quickly get his mind around research environment challenges and various governing bodies. His rich experience and expertise make him exceptionally well-qualified to lead the CAS with a focus on scientific excellence.
