On September 17, 2026, during the TS4E international conference held at the Institute of Plasma Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Dr. Jiří Matějíček received the President’s Award from the ASM International Thermal Spray Society.
This prestigious award was presented to Dr. Matějíček in recognition of his lifelong service to the professional community and his scientific contributions to the fields of thermal spraying and coatings for fusion applications. Among other roles, Dr. Matějíček is a long-standing contributor to the field’s leading journal, the Journal of Thermal Spray Technology, and serves as chair of the Best Paper Committee.
