Last year, he won the prestigious Earth Prize 2025 for the innovative PURA water purification project, which he worked on at our institute. His fantastic success was also noticed by the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.
He is currently in his first year studying biomedical engineering at Imperial College in London, but is also developing other projects - among other things, he is part of the global advisory board of the TikTok Youth Council and co-founder of the Czech student association STEM_HUB. Tomáš Čermák and his approach using corona discharge plasma to destroy pollutants and bacteria still have a long way to go, and he also appeared in this year's Forbes 30 under 30 - a selection of exceptionally talented, successful and inspiring personalities of this country who are not yet thirty years old.
