Jan Čížek received Fellow of ASM International honor

Jan Čížek of the Department of Materials Engineering has been awarded the Fellow of ASM International honor, one of the highest recognitions in the field of materials science.

This award was approved by the ASM International Board of Trustees and officially presented by its president Navin Manjooran during the Annual Awards Banquet in Detroit, Michigan, USA on October 21, 2025.

ASM International is the world’s largest association of materials-centric engineers and scientists. It is dedicated to informing, educating, and connecting the materials community to solve problems and stimulate innovation around the world. Established in 1969, the Fellow of the Society honor recognizes members whose outstanding contributions have significantly advanced their research field.

Jan became the second individual from the Czech Republic to ever receive this elite distinction. The first was Professor Pavel Chráska, former director of IPP, honored in 2005.
