At a personal invitation, Professor Andrew Siao Ming Ang from Swinburne University of Technology, Australia, will be hosted at our institute during his sabbatical overseas stay, starting mid-August 2025.
Professor Ang is a world-renowned specialist in the field of materials science, namely thermal
spray. He is the current President of ASM International – Thermal Spray Society, Co-Director of
Swinburne’s Space Technology and Industry Institute, Director of Microscopy & Advanced
Analytical Facility, and chief investigator within the ARC Training Centre on Surface Engineering
for Advanced Materials.
He is a recipient of several prestigious awards including International Thermal Spray
Association Scholarship Award, Fresh Science Victoria, DMTC Industry Partnership Award and
Swinburne Vice Chancellors Research Excellence Award recipient.
During his stay at IPP, he will collaborate with Jan Cizek of Materials Engineering department
on several topics related to advanced surfaces for power generation and aviation industries.
