35th ITPA DivSOL TG meeting

On 21 - 24 October 2024, the Institute of the Plasma Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences organized 35th meeting of the ITPA Topical Groups Scrape Off Layer and Divertor (DivSOL). The meeting was attended by more than 70 experts from most of the ITER members.

International Tokamak Physics Activity (ITPA) operates under the auspices of ITER and provides a framework for internationally coordinated fusion research activities, which resulted in the achievement of a broad physics basis essential for the ITER design and useful for all fusion programs and for progress toward fusion energy generally.

The physics studied by the Scrape Off Layer (SOL) and Divertor Topical Group covers a wide range of topics from at the first wall surface (plasma-material interactions), to the plasma and impurity transport in the divertor and SOL and the relation between core and edge plasma parameters, as well as the understanding of edge turbulence and intermittent transport (e.g. Edge Localized Modes and blobs).
