Installation of steady state magnetic field sensors on the ITER tokamak

The first set of 24 steady state magnetic field sensors was installed on the ITER vacuum vessel sector on July 2022.

 

These sensors employ Hall effect within thin layer of bismuth to measure magnetic field. Sensors feature high radiation resistance and they were designed, developed and delivered on the ITER tokamak by the employees of IPP of the CAS in broad collaboration with national and also the European academic and industrial partners.
